Code of Conduct.

Droidventure is a community of ambitious people learning demanding skills together. That only works when everyone feels safe, respected and able to do their best work. This Code of Conduct sets the standard of behaviour we hold ourselves and our community to, and what happens when it is not met.

It is not a list of loopholes to argue around. It describes the kind of environment we are committed to — professional, honest and generous — and asks you to help protect it.

This Code applies to everyone connected to Droidventure — learners, applicants, mentors, staff, guest speakers and partners — in every space we operate: live sessions, our platform, chat and community channels, events, and one-to-one interactions related to the Service, whether online or in person.

At their best, our community members are:

• Respectful — treat everyone with courtesy, regardless of background, identity, experience or seniority.
• Constructive — give and receive feedback in good faith; critique the work, not the person.
• Honest — represent your work, experience and identity truthfully.
• Generous — help others learn; a rising cohort lifts everyone in it.
• Professional — show up prepared, meet commitments, and communicate clearly.

The following behaviours breach this Code:

• Harassment, bullying, intimidation or threats, whether in person or online.
• Discrimination or demeaning conduct based on gender, religion, caste, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, age or background.
• Unwelcome sexual attention, advances or comments.
• Hateful, abusive or deliberately disruptive language or behaviour.
• Sharing others' private information without consent, or recording sessions without permission.
• Dishonesty, plagiarism or misrepresenting your work — see Academic integrity below.
• Retaliating against someone for raising a concern in good faith.

The value of a Droidventure certificate rests on the honesty of the people who earn it. We take integrity seriously:

• Submit work that is genuinely your own, and credit sources, collaborators and tools where relevant.
• Do not plagiarise, buy work, or present someone else's output as yours.
• Collaboration is encouraged where a task allows it — but passing off shared work as solo work is not.
• Do not help others break these rules, or share assessment content where that is prohibited.

We are an AI-first institute — using AI tools well is part of what we teach, and we expect you to use them. The line is not “AI or no AI”; it is honesty and understanding.

• Use AI to learn and build — research, draft, debug, iterate. That is the point.
• Understand what you submit. You are responsible for your work, including anything AI helped produce. Be able to explain it.
• Be transparent where an assessment asks how you used AI, and follow any task-specific rules on tool use.
• Never use AI to deceive — to fabricate results, impersonate someone, or misrepresent your own understanding.

Our chat groups, forums, live sessions and events are shared professional spaces. Keep them useful and welcoming:

• Stay on topic and in good faith; assume the best of people before assuming the worst.
• No spam, self-promotion or solicitation without permission.
• Keep discussion professional — robust debate about ideas is welcome; personal attacks are not.
• Respect mentors' and moderators' guidance in the spaces they run.

People share openly here — their work, their goals, sometimes their struggles. Protect that trust. Do not share another person's private information, work or contributions outside the community without their consent, and do not record or screenshot sessions unless it is expressly permitted. If you experience or witness behaviour that breaches this Code, please tell us. You do not have to be certain, and you will not be penalised for raising a concern in good faith.

We review every report fairly and as promptly as we can. That usually means understanding what happened, speaking with those involved, and protecting the privacy of everyone concerned as far as possible.

We will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith or takes part in a review. Where a situation involves risk to someone's safety, we act quickly to protect people first.

Responses are proportionate to what happened. Depending on the severity, they may include a private conversation, a formal warning, removal from a community space, or — for serious or repeated breaches — suspension or termination of access without refund, and referral to authorities where the law requires it.

Our aim is a community people are glad to be part of. Almost everyone meets this standard easily; this section exists for the rare occasion when someone does not.
